ABOUT US

The Working Group on Children Recruited by Terrorist and Violent Extremist Groups  is the premier independent I/NGO in the world exclusively dedicated to protect the rights and well-being of child victims and survivors of terrorist use and exploitation.

MISSION

Our mission is to protect children from terrorist trafficking and to inspire a long-lasting change in the way in which children victims of terrorist coercion and violence are treated

VISION

Our vision is a world in which the recruitment of children by terrorist groups is prevented and every child victim of terrorist exploitation receives rehabilitation and reintegration support that is essential to rebuild a dignified life

RESEARCH & ANALYSIS

We develop rigorous, evidence-based research to inform the development of programs preventing and responding to violence against children exploited by terrorist and violent extremist groups. To this end, we conduct qualitative and quantitative data collection and disseminate high-quality research and analysis and curate a resource library of reports, tools and briefs

ADVISORY

We leverage our expertise and unique position to provide advisory and assistance to national governments, international, intergovernmental and regional organizations, major groups and other actors seeking to strengthen understanding, awareness and operational capacity to address extremist threats involving children

ADVOCACY

We advocate respect for the dignity and rights of children affected by terrorism and promote policies that foster the development of effective, accountable, and transparent crime prevention strategies and criminal justice responses to children whether they are in contact with the justice system as victims, witness, or alleged offenders

PARTNERSHIPS

We build bridges across the public, non-profit and private sector and foster strong multi-stakeholder partnerships enhancing efforts, synergies and cooperation towards the protection of the rights and well-being of children affected by terrorism
